The Senior Engineer I, Electrical Project Engineering, is responsible for overseeing the electrical systems design for onshore wind, solar, and storage projects from development to handover to operations.
Role Responsibilities:
Design of balance of plant packages from development to IFCEngineering project support during pre-construction, construction, and turnover to OperationsGrid code compliance and interconnection requirementsSpecification and evaluation of major balance of plant electrical equipmentPower system modeling and studiesCoordinating project engineering topics during constructionManagement of 3rd party engineering consultantsCoordinating with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts during the project lifecycleSupport NERC Compliance documents and studiesEnsure that the highest level of health, safety, and environmental protection is incorporated into designs and standardsSupport the development of electrical engineering standardsSupport the development of engineering processes and proceduresJob Requirements and Experiences:
A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college engineering program Advanced degrees can reduce technical experience requirementsMinimum 8 years of professional experience (post undergraduate) in electrical engineeringSpecific areas of experience and competency include transmission design, substation design, collection and distribution design, major equipment specification, power system studies, and system protection and controlExperience in renewable generation (wind turbine, solar PV, and BESS storage) project design is preferredStrong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationshipsDemonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables spaceExcellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and TeamsStrong leadership, communication, and ability to meet deadlinesStrong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverablesAbility to multitask, while working independently and as part of a teamMotivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilitiesProven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgroundsResponds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachableIs detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business conceptsWork Environment:
This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE offices and field locations.
The employee must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time.
Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in California, New York, and Illinois is $125,000 - $156,000.
The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
