Position Summary
The IT Systems Engineer provides the business knowledge and technical skills to implement technical strategies, evaluate products and provide a superior level of technical support that benefit the company.
Provide technical guidance, engineering and support for Light & Wonder global Corporate IT environment.
The Data Center Operations focus specializes in providing technical support for computerized operations.
Installs, configures and troubleshoots computer hardware, software, systems and other resources in a data center or other centralized computer network setting.
Monitors system performance and utilization metrics including support for new equipment.
Applies professional-level technical skill and judgment to provide non-routine technical support for computer/data center operations.
Installs, configures and troubleshoots server and non-desktop computer hardware, software, systems and other resources in a data center or other centralized computer network setting.
Maintains access control, data integrity and file system security for the computer/data center environment.
Monitors, tracks and records system performance and utilization metrics.
Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel.
Recommends process, hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades, to improve computer/data center efficiency.
May participate in development of information technology and infrastructure projects.
May be internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions.
May include company-wide, web-enabled solutions.
Qualifications
Education:
College degree preferred in CIS/MIS programs or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
Required Experience:
5+ years relevant experience supporting enterprise systems, platforms or cloud resources.
3+ years experience with Microsoft, VMware, Nutanix or Azure products.
Certifications in Microsoft, VMware, Azure, HPE, Dell, NetApp or other related hardware or virtualization platforms a plus.
Must be able to build in and manage vSphere environments
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures.
Ability to work in high pressure situations
Ability to manage servers in a clustered environment.
Capable of managing multiple tasks and objectives.
Capable of troubleshooting various hardware platforms.
Support of Windows operating systems
Knowledge of how to secure operating systems.
Experience with Windows Server 2016 and later.
Some experience with Linux administration
Basic understanding of Windows security, rights, and groups.
Basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory.
Basic understanding of LAN/WAN networks and ability to analyzing pc to network connectivity issues (i.e. client/server architecture).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - verbally & written, including technical writing.
