Position Overview



We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior IT Infrastructure & Systems Engineer to lead the management and maintenance of our company’s IT infrastructure.

This role is essential to supporting our remote-first software development environment, with a strong emphasis on Hyper-V virtualization, Oracle database operations, Microsoft 365 services, Azure production support, and IT compliance.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on expert in virtualization, networking, and systems administration, capable of independently managing complex environments and ensuring high-quality IT support across the organization.



Key Responsibilities



Hyper-V& Virtual Infrastructure



- Manage and maintain Dell Hyper-V servers hosted in the SwitchNAP data center.

- Clone, configure, and deploy virtual machines for development and testing environments.

- Monitor and optimize performance of virtual infrastructure and storage arrays.



Development Environment Management



- Set up and maintain development environments including:

- Microsoft IIS web servers

- Oracle databases

- Ensure environments are stable, secure, and aligned with development needs.



Oracle Database Administration



- Perform day-to-day Oracle database management tasks including:

- Data imports and exports

- Backup and recovery operations

- Performance tuning and troubleshooting

- Act as the primary liaison between the development team and the Oracle DBA to coordinate database needs, changes, and issue resolution.



Microsoft 365&SharePointAdministration



- Manage user accounts, licensing, and security settings in Microsoft 365.

- Administer SharePoint Online sites, permissions, and content structure.

- Support Teams, Exchange Online, and Intune as needed.



AzureProduction Support



- Provide basic administrative support for Azure Virtual Machines and related services.

- Perform routine maintenance and monitoring of the production environment.

- Assist with application-level support for the enterprise HR application hosted in Azure.

- Collaborate with the outsourced Cloud Service Provider to ensure uptime, performance, and security.



Networking & Security



- Configure and maintain Fortigate firewalls and VPN access for remote employees.

- Manage network infrastructure including VLANs, routing, and DNS/DHCP services.

- Ensure secure and reliable connectivity across all systems.



Helpdesk Oversight



- Serve as the primary liaison and escalation point for the outsourced helpdesk provider (RAKE Digital).

- Monitor and review user support tickets to ensure timely and effective resolution.

- Provide Tier 3 support for complex or unresolved issues escalated from RAKE Digital.



Audit & Compliance Support



- Collaborate with the CISO to collect and submit documentation for the company’s annual SOC 1 Type 2 audit.

- Assist the CISO in responding to regular government audit and assessment requests.

- Maintain accurate records and ensure audit readiness across all IT systems.



Required Qualifications



- 12+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and systems administration.

- Expert-level knowledge of:

-Hyper-Vvirtualization



- Federal ATO / Fedramp experience

- Enterprise storage arrays

- Networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls)

- Strong experience with:

- Oracle database administration

- IIS configuration and management

- Microsoft 365 andSharePointOnline

-AzureVirtual Machines and basic cloud administration

- Proficiency with Fortigate firewalls and VPN configuration.

- Experience overseeing or collaborating with outsourced IT support providers.

- Familiarity with IT audit processes and documentation.

- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
