The Learning Experience Design team is building workforce learning for the FUTURE – rethinking not only the content we produce or how it is produced (e.g. leveraging Artificial Intelligence), but the way content it is consumed to meet our customers where they are at.

We are a team of Day 1 designers who work closely with content experts, technology and metrics to drive new ways of learning in the workplace for Data Centers around the world.

AWS Data Center Learning is responsible for providing training and career development based learning paths to all new and existing data center technicians world-wide.

Our team is constantly looking to optimize the training experience and provide our field operations teams with the highest skilled workforce.
The Sr. Learning Experience Designer will ensure that we’re aligned to the highest value learning opportunities to not only improve our learner experience, but to drive internal development processes as well.

Responsibilities include working with cross-functional teams on process optimization and training content development that supports reduction in time-to-productivity and decrease in error rates for Data Center roles.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.

You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

Key job responsibilities
• Design, develop, and deploy training materials that align to a blended training strategy, including and not limited to: self-directed, instructor led (ILT), remote delivery of ILT (vILT), and hands-on practical training or micro-learning
• Partner with cross-functional teams to build out development experiences with a global mindset
• Solve business problems with focus on understanding root causes and driving forward-looking opportunities
• Consult with technical SMEs to determine training strategy at project and program level, design and create engaging end user training experiences
• Manage multiple training or curricula development projects simultaneously
• Create reliable and valid learner evaluation tools to gauge knowledge and skill transfer
• Measure impact and quickly revise content/modality to address specific feedback, as needed
• Drive use of evaluation and performance data to improve learning content
• Work with global stakeholders to program manage technical training programs

Note: This position requires onsite 5 days per week.

Basic Qualifications
• BA or BS degree in a relevant field such as instructional technology, educational technology, organizational development or 5+ years of relevant experience in instructional design
• 5+ Years developing and executing strategies, development and delivery of creative and innovative training solutions
• 5+ years of developing training in a variety of delivery modalities
• Experience program managing learning and development projects
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in a relevant field such as instructional technology, educational technology, organizational development
• Experience working as a consultant in a corporate or start up environment.
• Experience working with remote teams and an international audience
• Experience gathering, building, interpreting, and communicating performance metrics to multiple organizational levels
• Experience creating training for high tech industry and has technical aptitude to quickly learn new technologies and develop various learning solutions that scale
• Familiar with Artificial Intelligence design tools
• Obsessed about the customer experience, high standards, innovation and continually inspire others to do better for the customer

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

The base pay for this position ranges from $124,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $215,100/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
