The ~200 professionals in TDRM are trusted experts who oversee ~14,000 developers at Capital One.

We shape strategy and decisions, challenge activities to ensure they meet our standards, and perform independent tests of our security and technology risk.

For years, the cybersecurity community has debated whether the CISO should report to the CIO or not.

In regulated financial services, the answer is: both.

The first-line CISO has operational responsibilities and reports to the CIO.

The second-line Chief Tech Risk Officer (CTRO) and the Tech & Data Risk Management (TRM) organization have broader responsibilities for cybersecurity but also reliability, software quality, resilience, and the risk of failing to manage our data.

The CTRO is independent and oversees the work of the CISO, the CIO/CTO, and the Chief Data Officer.

The CTRO reports to the Chief Risk Officer, who reports directly to the CEO.

Our business leaders must make technology decisions constantly.

TDRM makes sure they have the tech and data risk information they need to make good decisions.

Associates within TDRM are highly-skilled information security, cybersecurity, site reliability engineering, technology, data analyst, data scientist, and risk management professionals.

They have a wealth of experience and a demonstrated ability to add value with their advice and to deliver high-impact results.

As a Senior Manager Project Manager at Capital One, you will drive strategy and execute on high priority projects for the company.

You will work with smart and passionate people to deliver results that have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line.

This role resides in the Enterprise Risk Management Function under the Technology and Data Risk Management Team.

Specifically, this Project Manager will support the Enterprise Data Risk Function that oversees, data, computation and information management risk.

General Responsibilities:

+ Facilitating and delivering annual department strategy and KPIs
+ Developing and leading the quarterly planning process
+ Leading moderate to large complex projects and programs
+ Designing, developing, and managing project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements
+ Ensuring projects are being documented appropriately to mitigate risk and to be delivered on time.
+ Leveraging problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent
+ Leveraging process design techniques to build and improve operating mechanisms for the department and executing on those through self and others
+ Partnering cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project and process delivery
+ Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments
+ Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment.
+ Display a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through their leadership style
+ Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes

Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
+ At least 8 Years of Project Management experience
+ At least 1 Year of People Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Masters of Business Administration or other Masters degree
+ 10+ years of Project Management experience
+ 3+ years of People Management experience
+ Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
+ Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
+ Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
+ 3+ years in a Risk Management Organization
+ 2+ years of data risk management exposure

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location.

Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Riverwoods, IL: $155,300 - $177,200 for Sr Manager, Project Management

McLean, VA: $170,800 - $194,900 for Sr Manager, Project Management

New York, NY: $186,300 - $212,700 for Sr Manager, Project Management

Richmond, VA: $155,300 - $177,200 for Sr Manager, Project Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).

Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
