Job Description
NetImpact Strategies is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to manage and maintain the agency's enterprise network infrastructure.
You will oversee deployment, configuration, and support of Cisco routers, switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and cloud networking systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability.
In this key role, you will mentor junior staff, lead high-impact network initiatives, and deliver innovative solutions aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead installation, configuration, and maintenance of Cisco network devices (routers, switches) and Palo Alto firewallsMonitor and optimize network performance to ensure high availability and efficient resource usageDiagnose and resolve complex network issues including connectivity, security, and performance bottlenecksApply patches, updates, and security configurations to network devices to maintain a secure environmentMaintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and policiesCollaborate with IT teams to integrate network solutions with systems and applicationsProvide guidance and mentorship to junior network administrators and IT staffArchitect network infrastructure, including secure baseline configurations, implementation plans, and service deploymentsLead troubleshooting efforts for Layer 2/3, wireless, VoIP, data center, and SDN Research emerging network technologies and assess their applicability and value to the organizationPerform hardware installations and configuration support in on-prem data center environments Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fieldCCIE certification, or at least 10 years of experience in LAN/WAN, wireless, VoIP, data center, SDN administration, engineering, and architecture Proven expertise with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and network protocols (., BGP, OSPF, VLANs)Experience managing Palo Alto firewall configurations and security policiesSkilled in diagnosing and resolving complex network security, connectivity, and performance issuesStrong documentation and analytical skills, with ability to architect and implement enterprise solutionsPreferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid architectureFamiliarity with network monitoring tools (., SolarWinds, Cisco DNA Center)Certifications such as CCNP or cloud‑related network certificationsProven history of mentoring staff and leading complex network initiatives About Us
