Job Description:

L3Harris Corporate IT has an opening for a Senior, Network Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

Candidate can work remotely and needs to be within driving distance to one of the L3Harris facilities.

The individual will work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, global scope, and a collaborative team setting.

Provide technical and engineering leadership on the Corporate Data Network Engineering team.


Essential Functions:

+ Interface with lead solutions architect and enterprise architects on strategic planning and design of Cloud and compute services, WAN, LAN, WLAN, security, voice, and data center.



+ Evaluates, pilots, designs, troubleshoots, documents, implements - (2/3, VPC, VDC, Datacenter Zones, Spanning Tree, VRF, VTP, VLANs, & cabling) problem isolation and resolution.



+ Lead prioritization and execution of break/fix and network projects and tasks.



+ Providing technical expertise and support in troubleshooting network issues and optimizing network performance.



+ Captures, decodes, and interprets packet captures from tools like Wireshark.



+ Develops contingency plans for network software or hardware failure including isolated and major outages.



+ Leads and supports network architectural, engineering review, change planning and other oversight discussions.



+ Create and maintain Network documentation for use by the network operations and support teams.



+ Support Tier 2-3 team to resolve complex issues.



+ Ability to obtain a US security clearance.



+ Ability to travel up to 10%.


Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience.

Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.



+ 5 years experience in network design and architecture in a hands-on engineering role.



+ 10 years experience designing, installing and troubleshooting on an enterprise network.


Preferred Additional Skills:

+ Knowledge of AWS and/or Azure Cloud.



+ Foundation in IT network and systems methodology (analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation support).



+ In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, TCP/IP).



+ Experience with logical design models (L2/L3, VPC, VDC, Datacenter Zones, Spanning Tree, VRF, VTP, VLANs, & cabling).



+ Working technical knowledge of network control protocols (QoS, PfR, PoE, NTP, DHCP), network management protocols (CDP, FTP, TFTP, SNMP) and security protocols (SSH, HTTPS, AAA, IPSec, TrustSec).



+ Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, ITIL Foundations v3, etc.).


In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $130,500-$242,500.

The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $113,500-$210,500.

This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
