About the Role

Slalom is looking for a west coast based (Seattle preferably) Senior Manager to lead a team of creative and detailed oriented project managers and specialists.

The Global Spaces team’s mission is to design, deliver, and operate innovative, inspiring, and empowering workspaces for Slalom’s portfolio of existing and expansion offices that represents not only our brand but the culture and people of each individual market (cities).

As part of the Spaces leadership team, we are looking for a leader who sees a gap and can fill it.

Working closely with the other senior leaders and the directors, you will need to complement the styles of the leadership team and be willing to challenge conventional thinking, introduce pace and rigor to ensure overall department success.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional team management abilities and an advanced understanding of successful project management techniques to help the team achieve deliverables, maximize alignment, and keep to schedule/budget.

Experience with contract negotiations, expert construction budget management/development and demonstrated time management/delivery will enable the right candidate to shepherd the team through numerous simultaneous projects.

As part of the Spaces Projects team leadership, we are looking for a Sr Manager who sees a gap and can fill it.

This critical position needs to successfully communicate and present to senior leadership through easily consumable material that includes supporting information, industry data, and analysis of Slalom-specific trends.

The right candidate’s calmness, oversight, and empathy create a problem-solving environment and brings the team along for the journey.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead a team of construction project managers and specialists in the delivery of full lifecycle corporate office design and buildouts.

  • Foster effective and efficient partnerships with Slalom’s internal design team and external architectural/design partners.

  • Act tactically with regards to project management, project plans, coordination and schedules across Slalom departments and teams.

  • Drive the overall rhythm of the projects by coordinating activities for both the Operations team and the IT Infrastructure team to ensure adherence to schedule.

  • Identify tools to improve processes while managing 8-10 real estate related projects annually.

  • Compile and maintain the weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports that drive solid business decision-making.

  • Compile historical internal and market data regarding real estate transactions for comparative analysis to drive future transactions.

  • Help develop annual forecasts and individual project budgets by compiling internal and industry data.

  • Help guide decision-making by stating and justifying an opinion or a rationale.

  • Organize and facilitate leadership and all-hands Spaces meetings.

  • Support vendor negotiation and RFP response review for cost, validity, and warranty.

  • Create and maintain positive relationships with key vendors for ongoing operational support.

  • Review architectural drawings for Slalom need and usability.

  • Contribute to the fit and function of an office with design experience.

  • Lead and support Slalom’s sustainability efforts in terms of site development, carbon footprint, renewable energy, and materials usage.

  • Suggest and use tools that provide insight and analytics in the areas of Corporate Real Estate including but not limited to project budgets, project schedules, performance/quality tracking, and local market customer post occupancy satisfaction.

  • Inspire the trust and confidence of local market leaders when presenting and explaining programmatic space planning opportunities and trends.

  • Work closely with Financial Planning & Analysis teams to ensure that projects are tracked to forecasts and budgets.

  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to anticipate and address project challenges.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and engagement across departments.

  • Champion process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency.

  • Demonstrate strong conflict resolution skills and emotional intelligence to maintain team cohesion.

  • What You’ll Bring

  • 5-7 years of experience with corporate office buildouts and/or operations management with a strong emphasis on construction management.

  • Minimum of 5 years (10 years ideal) of success as a People Leader.

  • Advanced experience in all elements of corporate office construction project management, from planning through delivery.

  • Advanced experience in developing, presenting, and managing construction budgets.

  • Advanced knowledge of construction/vendor contract negotiation and experience in vendor / contractor management.

  • Intermediate interior design knowledge.

  • Intermediate knowledge, and more importantly, a hunger to research municipal / building codes 
  • Advanced understanding of corporate real estate including lease negotiations, landlord incentives, and capital investment.

  • Demonstrated experience in corporate office sustainability, including green materials and carbon/waste reduction equipment.

  • Demonstrated ability to adopt and leverage AI tools and technologies to improve project management, analytics, and operational efficiency.

  • Technology expertise: experience with Project Management software, SharePoint and Office 365, advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and advanced formulas, with ability to learn and apply innovative technology quickly.

  • Strong knowledge of how equity and accommodation play a part in post-pandemic workplace design.

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.

  • Ability to travel <25%.

  • Spanish speaking a plus as part of the portfolio that you will manage includes Slalom’s LATAM expansions.

    Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

    For this position, the base salary pay range is $150,000 to $180,000.

    In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors.

    The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
