Senior QA Analyst

Job description

CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Senior QA Analyst to join our team in Boston and work on Project Sirius, an upcoming multiplayer game set in The Witcher universe.

In this role, the Senior QA Analyst will focus on ensuring the highest quality standards are met by analyzing, identifying, and reporting issues in the game.

This person will collaborate closely with developers, strike teams, and the broader QA team to understand incoming work, create and run test plans, and communicate their learnings with the overall team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with developers and designers to gather information for developing and maintaining test plans around key game features and incoming work
• Ensure effective QA documentation and knowledge sharing by creating, maintaining and organizing test documentation
• Conduct comprehensive testing of the game to identify and report bugs, track their resolution and verify fixes
• Test and assess the game's performance and stability on different platforms to ensure smooth gameplay and proper functionality
• Monitor ongoing game development and assess the impact of changes, offering guidance to QA teams to ensure continued coverage and consistency
• Provide comprehensive feedback including mechanics feel, usability, UI behavior, balance, pacing, and overall game flow, ensuring alignment with the game’s design vision
• Serve as a bridge between QA and development teams, ensuring that quality goals are clearly communicated and met across departments
• Prepare detailed reports and actionable insights on test outcomes, presenting key findings to senior management and stakeholders
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to influence project decision-making and align QA objectives with broader production goals

• 5+ years experience working in a similar position
• Experience in creating and verifying detailed test checklists
• Experience in documenting testing processes and bugs using bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)
• Excellent understanding of the development process working internally in a game studio setting
• Ability to identify and report bugs
• Ability to collaborate with developers and provide constructive feedback on the game and overall player experience
• Familiar with utilizing game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity) for testing
• Ability to think analytically, solve problems efficiently and approach work in a structured, systematic manner
• Strong attention to detail and precision in work
• Team player with strong communication skills
• Passion for video games

Nice to haves

• Experience in testing games on various platforms (PC, consoles, VR)
• Basic knowledge of automation tools or scripting for QA automation
• Passionate about The Witcher

Working mode

• Office-First: Working primarily from the Boston office, 3 days a week.
