**Description**

The Applied Electromagnetics Division of Applied Research Associates, Inc.

(ARA) in Dayton, OH is seeking an independently motivated Senior Radar Processing Engineer ready to collaborate with our growing team of engineers, scientists, and AI/ML experts to design, develop, and implement advanced radar processing algorithms.

These algorithms will include synthetic aperture radar (SAR) processing, scattering center processing, and automatic target recognition (ATR) using AI/ML.

As a senior engineer, you will also be responsible for helping grow new business with a focus area being electronic warfare (EW) applications.

The candidate is expected to participate in all project phases from proposal to execution, be able to convey ideas clearly in writing and verbally and enjoy teaching and learning from cross-discipline experts.

**SALARY RANGE for the Senior Radar Processing is: $111,566-185,950, dependent upon experience and education.**

**Specific Duties for a Senior Radar Processing Engineer Include:**

+ As a senior radar processing engineer, you will support business development activities including but not limited to developing or providing inputs for responses to RFPs, RFIs, etc.
+ Implement or enhance radar signal process software algorithms including but not limited to synthetic aperture radar (SAR), optimal waveform design, MIMO signal design and analysis, EM spectrum (EMS) management, Electronic Warfare techniques (jamming, LPI/LPD, Camouflage, Concealment & Deception).
+ Create compressed RCS return representations for real-time processing, using scattering center approaches or other state-of-the-art methods.
+ Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to advance automatic target recognition (ATR) algorithms.

**Required Qualifications for a Senior Radar Processing Engineer:**

+ Ability to obtain a security clearance
+ Any of the following:
+ Bachelor’s (or equivalent) with 7+ years of experience
+ Master’s with 5+ years of experience
+ PhD with some experience
+ 5+ years’ experience with Radar Signal Processing or Electronic Warfare applications
+ Expertise in synthetic aperture radar (SAR), automatic target recognition (ATR), and/or related fields

**Highly Desired Qualifications:**

+ Active (or prior) security clearance of Secret or higher (TS//SCI preferred)
+ An advanced degree in engineering, computer science, physics, or related discipline
+ Experience with radar range measurements, calibration, and signal processing
+ Experience with open system architectures (SOSA, Big Iron, etc.)
+ Experience programming field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) for real-time processing
+ Experience with software-based EW wargaming M&S (AFSIM, etc.)
+ Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing for EW applications
