**Job Description**
**AECOM is seeking a candidate for the position of** **Senior Rail Bridge Design Project Engineer** **with AECOM's expanding Bridge Design Engineering Group based in AECOM's Chicago, Illinois office.**
**The job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:**
+ Senior technical resource for transit and freight rail structures - may serve as technical advisor for team.
+ Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
+ Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
+ Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
+ Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
+ Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
+ Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
+ Prepares technical specification sections.
+ Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ BA/BS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ llinois PE
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Master's of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering degree.
+ SE highly preferred
+ 8+ years of bridge design and plan development experience
+ Proficiency in software such as MicroStation, LEAP Concrete/Bridge, PTC MathCAD.
+ Experience leading a staff of engineers and CAD personnel.
+ Experience in the plan production of transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.
+ Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
+ Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software)
+ Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable codes
+ Ability to do occasional field work (site visits and inspections) and travel.

The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $225,000.00.
