**Job Description:**

As a Senior Roadway Design Engineer at **Parsons** , you will **lead and manage the design and development of roadway projects, ensuring they meet client requirements and adhere to industry standards** .

You will work on a variety of projects, including urban and rural roadways, highways, and interstate systems.

In this role you will complete a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, applying transportation engineering techniques and analyses within roadway and geometric design on a variety of exciting and complex projects.

**What You'll Be Doing:**

+ Lead the design and development of roadway projects, including concept, preliminary and final design, alignment, grading, and pavement design.
+ Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
+ Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
+ Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met.
+ Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress and address any issues that arise.
+ Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
+ Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT requirements.
+ Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports.
+ Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project reviews.

**What Required Skills You'll Bring:**

+ Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
+ Minimum of 8+ years of related work experience in roadway design engineering, including project management.
+ Solid roadway geometric design background with proficiency in roadway design software (e.g., MicroStation, InRoads, Open Roads).
+ Strong knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT design standards and guidelines.
+ Intermediate skills with Excel (macros, equations)
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

**What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:**

+ Excellent written and communication skills
+ Ability to lead and motivate team members in completion of project tasks
+ Provide training and lead technical discussions related to roadway engineering
+ Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) experience

Salary Range: $86,700.00 - $151,700.00
