:Senior Structural Engineers – Transit Facilities / Buildings – Virtual based in US West Region
Opportunity :
Parsons has supported all elements of mass transit, including mainline railways, commuter rail and light rail transit.
Our design teams have worked on every major transit system in North America and many of the most renowned systems overseas and we are now hiring for two experienced Structural Engineers to join our team in Denver, Colorado .
We are engaged in some of the most exciting infrastructure projects in the country which are changing the urban context and are transforming the region into a more pedestrian and bike-friendly environment supported by public transit.
In this role, you will plan and design Facilities and Buildings used in Rail/Transit as well as various structures, like pedestrian bridges, walkways, overpasses, underground structures, and other related structures associated with Mass transit.
You will be expected to analyze proposed projects to ensure structural reliability, resource efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Deliverables include the development of specifications, engineering computations, material quantity take-offs, estimates, surveys and designs from planning stages through proposal through construction.
Active projects inclusive of the HART ( Honolulu Area Rapid Transit ), and Edmonton Light Rail in Canada.
For an experienced candidate, this role can be virtually based anywhere in the US Western Region – Pacific, Mountain, and possibly Central Time Zones.
Responsibilities:
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field)
8 years or more of related work experience is required, Master's degree is desirable, but not required
Professional Engineer (PE) License is desirable, or the ability to obtain PE license within one year
Proficiency in utilizing BIM/Revit and software packages typically associated with engineering is required
Proficiency with office software such as; MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Bluebeam is desirable.
Proficiency in the analysis, design and detailing of concrete and steel buildings for gravity and lateral loads is required
Working knowledge of concrete masonry unit and light gauge metal construction is preferred
Experience with transit facilities design is a plus, but not required.
