Senior Estimator Role (Construction Estimator)
Key Responsibilities:
- Influence Project Success from the Start: Analyze proposal specifications, contribute to risk assessments, define scopes of work, and identify essential estimate components.
Offer early insights into labor and resource requirements for self-performed trades. - Transform Concepts into Reality: Create conceptual, self-perform, hard bid, and guaranteed maximum price (GMP) estimates for diverse, high-complexity projects.
- Think Beyond the Figures: Utilize historical data, subcontractor feedback, and productivity metrics to produce accurate quantity takeoffs and labor-hour estimates.
- Work Collaboratively: Partner with preconstruction teams to deliver constructability reviews, scheduling insights, value engineering, and support for target value delivery.
What You ll Need to Succeed:
- Education & Experience: A bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred, along with 8+ years of estimating experience on commercial and institutional projects valued up to $150 million.
- Industry Expertise: Experience estimating projects in sectors like healthcare, life sciences, higher education, or food and beverage manufacturing is preferred.
Knowledge of self-perform work and at-risk general contractor/construction manager (GC/CM) delivery methods is a plus. - Technical Skills: Deep understanding of estimating methods, cost control systems, and engineering principles.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to tackle complex challenges, develop innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions to ensure project success.
