Senior Systems Engineer (IFICS Data Terminal)

Onsite in Huntsville, AL | Off Post not on the Arsenal

Full-Time with an ESOP Contractor | Schedule: 9x80 (Every Other Friday Off)

Senior Systems Engineer to support the In-Flight Interceptor Communications System (IFICS) Data Terminal product team on the Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program.

You will perform Systems Engineering functions such as requirements decomposition, hardware fault analysis, and hardware-to-software interface definition, and testing as part of the IDT product team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Qualifications:

  • .

    Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Active Secret Clearance required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related STEM Field from an accredited college and 8+ years of experience (Or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience)

  • Prior experience developing Test Plans and Test Procedures for DoD programs

  • Experience working on Missile Defense systems or programs

  • Proficient with DOORS for requirements management

  • Familiar with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools such as Cameo

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience using Atlassian Tools
  • Familiar with Agile terminology and best practices
  • Prior experience as a Product Owner
  • Familiar with automated software requirements testing and analysis
  • Familiar with Software Containerization and Orchestration
  • Familiar with DevSecOps
  • Prior experience working with MIL-STD-810 and performing Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT)
  • Prior experience working with Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA)
  • Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) per MIL-STD-461 and Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) per MIL-STD-464
  • Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with High-Altitude electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) per MIL-STD-188-125-1 and MIL-STD-188-125-2
  • Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) per MIL-HDBK-344
