Job Overview:
This Senior System Engineer will possess technical expertise and engineering skills and is considered a leading subject matter expert for designing technical infrastructure solutions involving, server hardware, hypervisors, VMs, DR, SRM, and cloud solutions, with general knowledge of Storage and Networking.
This individual is a thought leader and driver of change who must be able to work in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment, facilitate implementation, and influence the adoption of new processes and tools.
Responsibilities:
VMware Infrastructure Management: Responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining VMware virtualization infrastructure, including vSphere, ESXi hosts, and vCenter Server.
Virtualization Deployment: Plan and execute virtualization projects, including server consolidation, migration, DVS, sDRS technologies.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve issues related to VMware infrastructure, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and virtual machine (VM) failures.
Capacity Planning: Monitor and analyze VMware infrastructure utilization, forecast resource requirements, and recommend upgrades or optimizations to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security best practices and policies for VMware environments, including user access controls, network segmentation, and compliance with financial industry standards.
SRM VMware Live Recovery and Disaster Recovery: Configure and manage backup solutions for VMware infrastructure, including regular backups, replication, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
Patch Management and Upgrades: Plan and execute regular patching and upgrades for VMware software and related components, ensuring compatibility and minimizing downtime.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures, system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and provide knowledge sharing to other team members and stakeholders.
Participates in the creation and maintenance of metrics and institutes a process for continuous improvement.
Participates in Kanban delivery model to deliver sprint releases through stories/epics utilizing Jira to track all work.
Participating in the virtualization on-call rotation as needed

Requirements:
Over 5 years of experience working as a Systems Engineer
5+ years’ experience with VMWare including VMWare vSphere, VMware ESXi 7/8, vCenter, vSAN, and vRealize Suite
3+ years of experience working with SRM, UCS Hardware, Cisco Vendors, etc.
Preferences:
Experience with the following: VMC, PowerCLI, Cisco Networking – ACI, Data Center Migrations, ITIL, VMware Suite, Storage Methodologies, Strong scripting and automation knowledge, Service Now
Agile Methodologies: Scrum/Kanban
Compute Hardware: Cisco UCS, Lenovo Servers
Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, VMC on AWS

Pay Range:
$101,700-$169,500/yearActual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
