ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Video Producer must be able to perform the following essential duties and functions:

Producing:

1. Collaborate with in-house production team of producers, designers, editors, graphic artists, copy writers, and executive producers to conceive, plan, and execute your production.
2. Work with account team to determine video needs, create video concepts and proposals, and present video concepts to the account teams and clients.
3. Responsible for hiring and managing vendors needed for production.
4. Responsible for conceptualizing, planning, developing, prioritizing, and implementing a video production schedule, call sheets, scheduling talent and crew, finding locations, and managing the budget.
5. Supervise all aspects of pre-production and post-production.
6. Based on approved creative treatment, write shooting scripts and/or prepare storyboards describing the footage, graphics, music/SFX, narration, and dialogue.
7. Responsible for obtaining locations, props, and wardrobe.
8. Maintain departmental workflow processes and standard operating procedures.
9. Research content as needed.
   
   Conduct pre-interviews with talent matter experts, executives or other talent as needed.
10. Review footage, write editing scripts, supervise editing to adhere to brand standards and to meet content and time constraints.

Post-Production:

1. Work with other producers to write editing script.
2. Oversee editing session and graphic creation.
3. Spearhead the review process and manage internal account team changes and client changes with a spirit of collaboration and professionalism.

Education and Experience:

1. BS or BA with a major course of study in media/video production.
2. Minimum six years of production experience at an agency, production house, or news station.
3. Experience conducting interviews at a high level.
4. Extensive experience writing scripts, concepts, and treatments.
5. Expert knowledge of the process of taking a video project from concept to completion.
6. Detail-oriented with proven ability to work under deadline pressure.
7. Demonstrated creative decision-making and problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and multi-tasking abilities.
8. Ability to effectively manage project schedules and work under rigorous time constraints.
9. Proficient with MAC, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Experience:

1. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Apple Final Cut Studio.
2. Working knowledge of today’s top digital cinema cameras.
3. Some experience working as a DOP for a production.
4. Working knowledge of EFP lighting techniques.
5. Working knowledge of digital still photography.
