<p>Job Title: Senior .NET API Developer</p> <p><b>Job Summary:</b></p> <p>Carnival Cruise Line is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior .NET API Developer to join our Shipboard Technology team.
This role is critical to the success of our portfolio delivery initiatives, focusing on building scalable, secure, and high-performing APIs that power our guest and crew experiences.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions that align with our strategic goals.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p> <p> </p> <p>- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core/.NET 6+.</p> <p>- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.</p> <p>- Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of backend services.</p> <p>- Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT).</p> <p>- Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices in coding standards and architecture.</p> <p>- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across environments.</p> <p>- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and delivery.</p> <p>- Integrate APIs with internal systems and third-party services.</p> <p>- Integrate with third-party APIs and services, ensuring robust error handling and data consistency.</p> <p>- Manage API versioning strategies to support backward compatibility and smooth transitions.</p> <p>- Implement structured logging using SEQ and other observability tools.</p> <p>- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and delivery.</p> <p>- Experience with structured logging and monitoring using SEQ, Application Insights, or similar tools.</p> <p>- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</p> <p>- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><b>Required Qualifications</b>:</p> <p> </p> <p>- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.</p> <p>- 8+ years of experience in .NET development, with a strong focus on API design and development.</p> <p>- Expertise in C#, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, and LINQ.</p> <p>- Strong understanding of RESTful principles and microservices architecture.</p> <p>- Experience with API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI).</p> <p>- Proficient in Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.</p> <p>- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</p> <p>- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.</p> <p> </p> <p><b>Preferred Qualifications</b>:</p> <p> </p> <p>- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).</p> <p>- Experience with performance monitoring tools (App Insights).</p> <p>- Familiarity with Carnival Cruise Line systems or travel/hospitality domain is a plus.</p> <p>- Past knowledge of legacy API technologies is a plus.</p> <p> </p>
