Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines and performs assigned secondary operations.


+ Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools and, CNC machines and Cam driven Bar Machines.

+ Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.

+ Change offsets on CNC Machines.

+ Read and understand blueprints.

+ Utilize precision instrumentation and gages to verify product quality and integrity.

+ Move completed parts per standard work processes.

+ Complete appropriate documentation to track production and quality outputs.

+ Operate equipment used to complete the secondary operations EX: Everlube/Sandblaster/Barrel Finisher

+ Boxing completed parts to prevent damage

+ Move parts from one operation to next EX: Chip Shake/Parts Washer

+ Replenish warehouse with component parts as needed

+ Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement activities.

+ All other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.


Education, Credentials and Previous Experience:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Minimum of six months of on-site training as a machine operator, 12 months of machinist training from a Parker approved training program, or 3 years of related work experience as a machinist

Technical Depth and Breadth:
+ Working knowledge of machine setup, and tool changes.
+ Basic ability to read and understand blueprints.
+ Working knowledge of gages and measurement techniques.
+ Basic understanding of CNC codes.
+ Basic knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business applications.

+ Perform tasks with little supervision.
+ Able to effectively work on and manage multiple tasks daily, communicate professionally with co-workers, show flexibility to learn multiple jobs within the department, and show aptitude to perform essential job functions listed above.
+ Actively participate in improvement activities and Lean projects.

+ Dependable, prompt and reliable with good overall attendance
+ Demonstrate ability to get along with others; behave professionally; treat all coworkers with respect and dignity consistent with Parker Values and Code of Conduct.

+ Maintain well organized 5S work area.



Communication/Contact with Others:
+ Able to read, understand and follow written & verbal instructions and directions in English.
+ Keep others informed, provide accurate and timely feedback, communicate clearly, listen and be receptive to feedback.



Physical Demands: With or without reasonable accommodation:
+ Required to stand or walk for extended periods of time, up to 8 to 10 hours per day.
+ Required to work around manufacturing operations with exposure to noise, fumes, heavy machinery, and other shop-related hazards.
+ Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling of material (up to 26 lbs.).
+ Use of Personal Protective Equipment as required, may include safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, and/or any other equipment deemed necessary.
