Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures the accuracy and integrity of data within iPenn and SEVIS, overseeing SEVIS registration and managing data through quality control, cleanup, integration, and analysis.

    Act as DSO/ARO, monitor alerts and data issues within SEVIS and iPenn, identify causes of such issues, contact ISSS clients, and distribute tasks to ISSS staff, and find ways to reduce or eliminate the issues.

  • Configure templates and automated workflows to handle varying possible combinations of incoming data.

    Move rule-based processing into automated workflows, in order to allow more ISSS staff time to be spent on more nuanced immigration issues.

  • Analyze SEVIS reportable data from iPenn, Banner records, and Penn other central record systems to identify and correct reporting gaps.

    Liaise with other central Penn units that handle international population on campus, including student records, Registrar, NGSS project, ISC Penn Community and Integrations.

  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports and diagrams to meet ISSS business needs and requirements from Penn community.

    Test and implement software tools to present data in interactive formats.

    Generate case or fee processing reports and support internal data audit for staff efficiency.

  • Process eForms as a DSO/ARO, manage website content updates, update batch email templates, create e-form templates, standardized reports, and questionnaires to support the needs of the ISSS office and the Penn community.

  • Qualifications

  • REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related discipline and 2-3 years of directly related experience

  • Proficiency with databases and relational database design

  • Advanced technical skills with SQL and Excel

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • The ability to learn and work independently in a collaborative environment

  • Apply new technologies and business rules quickly, and problem-solving to propose technical solutions for reducing data/system redundancy and ensuring data integrity

  • U.S. Citizenship or legal permanent residency status as required by federal regulations.

  • DESIRED:

  • Experience with database management and ColdFusion strongly desired

  • Hands-on experience with data visualization strongly desired.

  • Demonstrated knowledge with SEVIS in F and J or employment-based petition requirements

  • DSO/ARO, SEVIS, and Sunapsis system experience

  • Cross-cultural or multi-cultural experience.

    Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job’s level.
