Shift Supervisor (Manufacturing)

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily plant operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient production environment.
This role includes managing production staff, maintaining quality standards, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Actively participate in the safety committee and promote daily safety awareness.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout the plant.
Conduct or assist with regular monthly safety meetings and training.
Supervise and coordinate plant employee activities to ensure smooth operations.
Train and assist employees on proper procedures and best practices.
Analyze workloads to determine time and material requirements for efficiency.
Provide direction on job assignments and methods for completing tasks.
Monitor production for cleanliness, safety, quality, and productivity.
Communicate effectively with peers, subordinates, and management.
Conduct weekly employee meetings to reinforce performance and safety goals.
Operate mobile equipment as needed (e.g., forklift, front-end loader, yard jockey).
Complete and distribute daily shift reports covering production data, attendance, downtime, safety, and housekeeping.
Supervise loading and unloading of trucks and ensure proper documentation.
Verify incoming shipments and communicate inventory changes.
Support monthly inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate records.
Conduct and present performance evaluations for shift employees.
Recommend promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions as needed.
Verify payroll timecards and monitor attendance and compliance.
Ensure adherence to all current quality assurance procedures.
Conduct and record daily quality tests to verify product standards.
Assist in developing and implementing new quality procedures as necessary.
Attend and participate in plant meetings.
Remain observant of plant operations and contribute ideas for improvement.
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Supervisory experience required; manufacturing experience preferred.
Must be able to stand continuously for 810-hour shifts.
Ability to perform repetitive motions, including bending and lifting 2040 lbs multiple times per minute.
Experience operating forklifts, front-end loaders, and yard jockeys preferred.
