Job Title: Simulation Engineer
Location: Owings Mills, Maryland, Houston, Texas or Calgary, AB (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time
This position is responsible to deliver simulation solutions to our pipeline customers in the Oil & Gas industry.
The engineer will work as part of larger project teams and complete assignments to deliver the final solution to meet the needs of the customer.
This work will include design documentation, implementation, testing, customer training and site commissioning.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Design, configuration, and implementation of pipeline simulation solutions using AVEVA’s Pipeline Integrity Monitor modeling application.
• Development of project documentation including the Functional Design Specification, Acceptance Test Procedures, and custom user documentation.
• Participate as a member of a larger team in project implementation and delivery to customers.
• Work directly with customers to understand customer’s needs and requirements.
• Travel to client sites will be required (approximately 25%).
Essential requirements
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Process or Petroleum Engineering.
• Experience in software application deployment, development or service, preferably in the Oil or Gas Pipeline Simulation industry.
• 1-3 years general experience in Oil and Gas pipeline transportation or related industry.
Desired skills
• Leadership, planning, decision making, problem solving, business communications, customer relationships, teamwork, quality assurance, interpersonal communications.
• Formal presentation skills
• Negotiation skills, influence management.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills in English.
• C++ and/or Fortran or other coding experience is beneficial.
• Basic computer networking knowledge is beneficial.
• Secondary language skills is beneficial
