Site Supervisor
The Security Site Supervisor is the on-site leader responsible for day-to-day security operations, officer performance, and client satisfaction.
This role ensures compliance with post orders, regulatory requirements, and company policies while maintaining a visible, professional presence and a safe environment for employees, visitors, and assets.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Operations & Post Management
- Lead daily shift briefings; assign posts, review post orders, and verify staffing meets contractual requirements.
- Monitor site activity and enforce access control, visitor/vendor management, key control, patrols, escorts, and alarm response.
- Maintain accurate logs, incident/accident reports, and pass-downs; submit timely daily activity reports (DARs).
- Conduct routine post inspections and quality checks; correct deficiencies immediately and escalate issues as needed.
- Manage badge issuance, turn-ins, and audit trails in accordance with client standards.
People Leadership
- Schedule officers, manage timekeeping, approve hours, and coordinate coverage for call-offs/vacations.
- Coach, mentor, and develop officers; conduct on-the-job training and refresher drills (post orders, emergencies, de-escalation).
- Execute performance feedback and corrective action in partnership with HR/Operations; uphold fair, consistent standards.
- Support recruiting/onboarding: help interview candidates, participate in site-specific training, and verify certifications.
Client Service & Communication
Serve as primary on-site point of contact for the client; conduct regular check-ins and service reviews.
- Partner with Facilities/EHS/IT/HR to support safety campaigns, audits, and special events.
- Prepare and deliver concise incident summaries and weekly/monthly KPI updates to the client and Operations.
Risk, Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and site-specific policies (e.g., OSHA, fire/life safety, camera/privacy rules).
- Enforce uniform and appearance standards; maintain equipment readiness (radios, body cams, flashlights, AEDs).
- Lead emergency response per site protocols (evacuations, medical emergencies, workplace violence, severe weather).
- Preserve evidence and scene integrity; coordinate with law enforcement, EMS, and client stakeholders as directed.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain current post orders/SOPs; recommend updates based on lessons learned and client feedback.
- Track training, licenses, and certifications; ensure all officers remain fully compliant and job-ready.
- Control site inventory (badges, keys, forms, PPE); submit purchase/repair requests per approval matrix.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cost-effective scheduling.
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma/GED; minimum 1–3 years of security experience with 1+ year in a lead or supervisory role.
- Active state security license/guard card for [State] (or eligibility to obtain prior to start).
- Valid driver’s license (if site requires driving) and ability to pass background/drug screening.
- Strong written/verbal communication; professional customer-service demeanor; conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
- Proficiency with common security systems (CCTV/VMS, access control/badging) and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work variable shifts, weekends/holidays, and respond to after-hours incidents as needed.
