Apple designs consumer electronics that have touched millions and changed the way people interact with electronic devices around the world.
These products have displays, cameras, and other technologies that need calibration and testing to ensure the customer experience we want to deliver, and the Hardware Test Engineering team is at the center of these calibration and test systems.
**Description**
The Core Algo SW team within Hardware Test Engineering is seeking an Algorithm Software Engineering Manager who will lead a team responsible for designing and developing software algorithms for Apple new product introduction (NPI).
Your team will be the backbone for ensuring the precision of Apple’s products, working closely with general software platform teams and with cross functional technology teams.
The projects the Core Algo SW team undertakes are high-impact, focusing on core algorithm functional blocks, streamlining algorithm pipelines, and creating the complex algorithms that power the calibration and testing of our world-class camera systems.
This involves taking high-resolution images taken during controlled factory testing and processing them to guarantee perfect functionality and assembly, directly enabling the quality of Apple’s customer facing products.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ M.Sc. or equivalent in Computer Science, Physics, or a related field with a focus on Computer Vision and Multi-view Geometry
+ 3+ years of experience as a technical lead in Computer Vision algorithm development, ideally within a cross-functional environment.
Proven ability to mentor and guide a team of engineers
+ 3+ years of professional software development experience (internships/co-ops/university experience are applicable)
+ 2+ years of management experience leading an engineering team
+ Extensive hands-on experience in Object-Oriented programming and Python/Matlab
+ API design for libraries & frameworks accounting for versioning, compatibility, etc
+ Fluent in both oral and written English
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills; excellent judgment; a self-directed, proactive approach to tackling problems, working through impediments and an ability to generate trust and build alliances with co-workers
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience collaborating with team members in different time zones
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to shifting priorities, and dive deep into technical details as needed
+ Deep understanding of algorithm design, development, and validation methodologies
+ Experience with camera calibration is a significant plus
+ Experience programming with C++ is a significant plus
+ Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership
**Pay & Benefits**
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
The base pay range for this role is between $198,300 and $342,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
