**Minimum qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
+ 2 years of experience with software development in C++ programming languages.
+ 1 year of experience with Machine Learning.

**Preferred qualifications:**

+ Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field like engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics or economics or in business science.
+ Experience developing and scaling Search, Infrastructure, or Datamart products/technologies.
+ Experience in architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, high performance, distributed systems.

The Astro Serving team builds and optimizes the foundation for Google’s information retrieval.

Our systems power Google Search and more than 100 critical products (e.g., YouTube Search, Shopping, Lens, etc.), handling millions of queries per second (QPS) over trillions of documents on a global fleet of servers.

We provide the efficient, vector-based embedding and token-based retrieval and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) grounding solutions used by Search and Cloud.

You will build foundational infrastructure to enable Google's most ambitious AI initiatives.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

+ Prototype highly scalable, low latency, cost efficient infrastructure.
