Job DescriptionSoftware Engineer - Full Stack Developer - 7+ yrs of Experience - TS/SCI w/Poly clearance is required
Halogen Engineering Group is looking for a Software Engineer who is a full stack developer and develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
Works individually or as part of a team.
Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
Resolves software problem reports.
Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

Salary Range
The projected compensation range for this position is 172K to 206K (annualized USD).
Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education,knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
Requirements
• Support the development life cycle of platform architectural design, deployment and debugging
• Building a release pipeline to enable fast, but safe delivery of critical business software to Production
• Develop & Maintain sound version control best practices-based CM systems (GIT), including branching and merging strategies
• Serve as a technical lead for an Agile team and actively participate in all Agile ceremonies.
Participate in all team ceremonies including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives.
• Ability to automate release deployments across development, test, staging, Quality Assurance and production stacks using a combination of scripting languages and other automation toolkits
• Set-up up new sites and applications via configuration management such as Puppet and Ansible
• Maintain / upgrade/ patch tracking and documentation software (Confluence/ Jira)
• Assist in design and maintenance web service infrastructure and deployments
• Analyze service stack and make recommendations for further improvements
• Identify processes and capabilities that can be stream lined and automated
• Communicate effectively to help bridge stakeholder and development requirements
• Assist with support and operations where necessary
• Maintain confidentiality with regard to information being processed , stored, or accessed
• Leverage programming Languages such as Python, Ruby Perl, and Java
• Experience with DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering methodologies.
• Ability to have a holistic view of service development and deployment architecture
• Set up and configure a continuous integration environment by leveraging Configuration Management containerization, serverless technologies, and Kubernetes.
Required Skills
Minimum knowledge needed:
• Common software development tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence and Atlassian Products
• Experience with Linux Command Line
• Recent experience with Java or similar programming language
• Basic understanding of web development and APIs
• Ability to troubleshot and problem solve
• Ability to learn new software and technologies related to backend or frontend development
Desired Skills
• Experience with Spring Boot
• Experience with Javascript, ReactJS specially
• Experience with Apache Kafka
• Experience with Apache Nifi
• Understanding of Docker/Docker Compose
• Experience with build tools, such as Maven
• Experience with SQL databases
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
OR
- Nine (9) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

A Bachelors degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus six (6) years of systems engineering experience OR A High School Diploma or GED plus ten (10) years of general system engineering experience (any Process Area).
OR A Masters degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience OR A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience.
Examples of Qualified engineering fields include: Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management.
