This opportunity offers the successful candidate the opportunity to be a leader and influencer in the architectural design decisions to protect our Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) products in an ever-growing threat environment.

Projects span the entire development lifecycle, including pursuit and order capture, system design, requirements definition, requirement allocation, requirement traceability, use case development for software/hardware, systems integration, verification testing and qualification.

In this role you will work closely with fellow systems engineers, Technical Project Engineers (PEs), Product Line / Program Management, software, hardware, electrical and support staff to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of the product lifecycle.

This position will sit at our **Aguadilla, PR** location.

You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.

Relocation is not offered.

This role is categorized as **hybrid** , with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

**What YOU will do:**

+ Support the engineering team members in embedded software application development, through guidance and direction to one or more software engineers
+ Investigate root cause of complex issues, and implement solutions, working independently or with a multi-discipline team
+ Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target hardware
+ Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system
+ Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware-software integration, and formal test
+ Develop software test plans and procedures, and other relevant technical documentation
+ Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, prototype, and evaluate results
+ Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and repair defects
+ Utilize a variety of software languages (primarily C/C++ and Python) ti implement software for embedded real time operating systems

**Qualifications you must have:**

+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
+ Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
+ U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
+ The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

**Qualifications We Prefer:**

+ Software and system-level debugging experience including the ability to identify problems in established code and make modifications as necessary
+ Experience using Agile methodologies, Atlassian/Jira toolset for task management, automation tool solution, Junit, Linux command line, shell, or python scripting.
+ Design and implementation experience with embedded software in C/C++ At least 1 years Linux OS use, ideally for an embedded environment
+ Object-oriented software development experience
+ Agile Scrum development experience
+ Ability to plan, track and report on progress
+ CI/CD software
+ Linux OS use, for an embedded environment
