Job Title: Spacecraft Assembly, Integration and Test Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Spacecraft Assembly, Integration and Test Engineer at our Jacksonville, FL facility.

This role involves hands-on testing and integration of spacecraft systems, with a strong mechanical focus and collaboration across engineering disciplines.

You will support prototyping and development teams, coordinate testing efforts, and contribute to the development of test setups for functionality demonstration and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage spacecraft testing campaigns with a focus on mechanical and electrical integration.
  • Identify testing methods, develop test plans, and design ground support equipment (GSE) for risk mitigation and requirements verification.
  • Create and refine assembly and test processes for subsystem and vehicle integration.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to testing methodologies and procedures.
  • Support system teams in developing practical and measurable product requirements.
  • Maintain and monitor test equipment and ensure facility readiness for testing activities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians during testing operations.
  • Analyze test results and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with design teams to incorporate system changes based on test outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and manage team training for spacecraft testing campaigns.
  • Travel to testing sites as needed (approximately 10–15%).
  • Essential Skills

  • 5–10 years of experience in spacecraft testing, integration, or related engineering roles.
  • Background in aerospace testing, including EMI, EFC, and environmental testing such as vibration, thermal vacuum, and acoustic testing.
  • Experience with metrology and data acquisition systems for measuring loads, dimensions, displacements, and electrical parameters.
  • Familiarity with classical and computational analysis techniques to validate finite element predictions and test results.
  • Experience contributing to business development efforts through technical briefings and support documentation.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAD for designing and fabricating mechanical systems and mechanisms.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping for proof-of-concept development.
  • Ability to design custom tests and develop specialized test equipment.
  • Knowledge of requirement generation and verification criteria establishment.
  • Adaptability across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to interface with cross-functional teams.
  • Work Environment

    This position is based onsite from Monday to Friday with 10-15% travel required.

    The work environment involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and adherence to safety protocols during testing operations.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
