Job DutiesSpeech-language pathologists (SLPs) are healthcare professionals who work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
They also provide education and training to families, caregivers, and other professionals.
Some of their responsibilities include:
Conducting screenings: SLPs assess a client's speech and swallowing challenges through screenings.
Developing treatment plans: SLPs create individualized treatment plans for each client.
Providing therapy: SLPs provide therapy to help clients improve their communication skills.
Educating clients and families: SLPs educate clients and their families about speech disorders and their causes.
Treating cognitive impairments:
Experience & Skills Required1-2 years experience as SLP
