What You'll Do

• Storyboard, film, produce, and edit engaging and high-quality video content to live across various social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
• Manage and organize content workflows and schedules.
• Craft timely pitches and contribute as needed to comprehensive editorial coverage of sports media personalities, viral moments, athletes, events, memes, and the greater landscape of Sports culture, with a keen eye for how Sports crosses over into music, pop culture, and style, ranging from daily features to premium and evergreen content.
• Communicate with the Head of Sports to develop stories and strategize coverage around major moments and events.
• Work with Head of Sports and Social Editor, Sports to conceptualize strategies to best distribute content via our networks, from social media to our video properties.
• Communicate with other departments to develop stories, strategize coverage, and spearhead new ways to attract loyal readers.
• Ideate social-first ideas and tactics in partnership with social, video, and production teams for content that lives across socials.
  
  

Who You Are

• 2+ years of demonstrated content creation experience.
• A deep knowledge of the sports and sports culture relevant to Complex.
• Always-on approach to work and the ability to keep pace with the internet.
• Possess a deep understanding of all social media and streaming platforms.
  
  (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Twitch, Kick, Snapchat)Willingness to appear on camera in social media content.
• Demonstrable commitment to accuracy; fact-checking or copy editing background is a plusMust be comfortable working with a broad range of cross-functional staff—junior to senior, editorial, analytics, design, etc.
• Must be willing to work nights and occasional weekends/holidays for coverageExcellent organizational and time management skills—ability to perform in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment and think quickly and strategically to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong understanding of analytics and social media trends across platforms.
• Experience with Capcut or Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Adobe Premiere) is a must.
• 2+ years of demonstrated writing and reporting experience at a publisher or website is a plus.

$75,000 - $85,000 a year

The Pay Range, which consists of salary and commission, for this position is listed.

Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance.

The range listed is just one component of Complex Total Rewards offerings for employees.
