Sr. Full Stack Developer
Contract/ Contract to Hire
Minneapolis, MNJob Overview:We are seeking a result-driven and highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team.
This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity ideal for individuals with strong experience in full-stack development, cloud technologies, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise-grade applications across on-prem and cloud environments (AWS).
You'll work collaboratively in an Agile setting, building scalable solutions with an emphasis on performance, security, and maintainability. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient software using Java, C#, Python, .NET, Spring Boot, and microservices.
- Enhance and maintain on-premise and internal PaaS applications, transitioning them to AWS per project timelines.
- Develop and implement serverless patterns from containerized applications.
- Build and manage industry-standard APIs, ensuring reliable connectivity and adherence to security protocols.
- Architect solutions optimized for SLAs, reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Anticipate downstream impacts of technical decisions and provide guidance for long-term planning.
- Promote software craftsmanship best practices (TDD/BDD, automated testing, CI/CD).
- Continuously improve system performance using metrics, monitoring, and trend analysis.
- Ensure security standards and privacy compliance are integrated early in the development lifecycle.
- Actively minimize and manage technical debt.
- Engage in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives) with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Facilitate code reviews and lead initiatives for process and quality improvements.
- Create clear documentation and operational playbooks.
- Weigh trade-offs between usability and performance to inform design decisions.
- Administer product upgrades and patches.
- Troubleshoot and maintain production systems, providing support to other team members as needed.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.

- Backend & Frontend Development: Java, J2EE, Spring (Batch, REST), JavaScript, Angular, HTML, CSS, XML, JSON.
- Database & Scripting: Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL, Shell Scripting.
- CI/CD & DevOps Tools: GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, SonarQube.
- Cloud & Containerization: AWS (CFT, S3, API Gateway, SQS, Security), Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, IBM MQ (Event Processing).
- Agile Methodologies: SCRUM, Iterative Product Development.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in full-stack development using Java, C#, .NET, and/or Python.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub/GitLab, JUnit, and Spring Boot.
- Proficient in writing and designing unit tests using TDD/BDD.
- Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., WireMock, Mockito, REST Assured, Postman, ReadyAPI, Cypress).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI.
- Solid understanding of AWS serverless components (ECS, EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, Athena, etc.).
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and system integration.
- Experience with agile project management tools (e.g., VersionOne/Agility).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Willingness to work outside of your comfort zone and take on new challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field.
- 4+ years of relevant industry experience (with a Bachelor's) or 2+ years (with a Master’s).
- AWS certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer).
- Experience with OpenShift and MQ technologies.
- Experience in the airline industry.
- DevOps or automation experience in test/build/deployment pipelines.
- Familiarity with Windows Server and Client-UX OS.
- Experience with test reporting tools (e.g., Cucumber Report, Extent Report).
