**Job Summary**

The Sr. Machine Learning Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain software solutions using diverse programming languages and technologies.

This role involves developing new software features, addressing complex technical issues, maintaining high-quality code, and supporting CI/CD processes.

The engineer will also create technical documentation, adapt to changing project requirements, and work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, demonstrating self-motivation and a strong desire to learn emerging technologies.

You will work in the development, deployment, and optimization of machine learning models, working closely with machine learning engineers, data engineers, software development engineers, and stakeholders.

Your expertise in advanced analytics and AI/ML practices will enhance customer experience and business operations.

Additionally, you will collaborate with business partners to explore innovation opportunities and shape cutting-edge applications.This role demands in-depth knowledge of AI/ML, business strategy, and change management, along with the ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.

This position is required to report to the SHI Austin, TX office location as determined by SHI management.

Role Description

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain software solutions using diverse programming languages and technologies
• Design, develop, and implement new software features or modifications to existing software based on functional requirements
• Identify and address complex technical issues efficiently through keen problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Exhibit a strong desire to learn and explore emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends to enhance knowledge and skills
• Maintain high-quality code through rigorous code reviews, testing, and debugging processes
• Ensure stability, efficiency, security, and quality of all shipped code by supporting continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes
• Support runtime platform maintenance, integration of new features, and release fixes
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and support continuous development efforts

Skill Level Requirements

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C+• Extensive experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn

• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including version control (Git), testing, and CI/CD pipelines

• Strong skills in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data analysis using tools like Pandas and NumPy

• Proficiency with platforms such as SageMaker, AWS Glue, Copilot, Chat GPT, and Open AI, and/or Microsoft AI technologies

• Ability to learn and work with new ML models, and Large Language Models (LLMs)

• The ability to understand and utilize cloud computing technologies, including virtualization, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS delivery models, to implement and manage scalable cloud solutions.

• Proficiency in using Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks for database interaction, including tasks such as mapping objects to database tables, managing database schemas, and performing CRUD operations efficiently - Intermediate
• Proficiency in using Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies, including tasks such as writing automated test cases before code implementation, ensuring code quality, and facilitating continuous integration and deployment - Intermediate

Other Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or relevant work experience required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine learning, with exposure to software engineering best practices

• 2 years of direct experience using technologies like SageMaker, AWS Glue, Copilot, Chat GPT, or Open AI, and/or Microsoft AI technologies

• Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments

• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, data structures, and software design principles
• Ability to travel 10%

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $130,000 - $180,000, which includes a flat base.

The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
