This role is a strategic position that continually assesses business needs, financials, and the supplier market to determine the best options and sources of supply for the organization.
This individual must also be an effective change agent, working with senior leadership within the business to drive enduring changes to how the organization manages third-party spend and supplier relationships.
In this role, you will regularly interact with key business leaders to balance cost, risk, and speed to ensure that the business is able to realize its objectives.
Role Responsibilities
Team Leadership
Lead a team of sourcing professionals to ensure proactive management and execution of category management, sourcing activities, and contracting related to Technology and Payments spend categories.
Model and develop maturity of key sourcing competencies, such as business relationship management, strategic sourcing, negotiations, category planning, analytics, project management, and executive communication.
Develop sourcing and procurement talent through succession planning, training, and mentoring of direct reports.
Sourcing Strategy and Spend Management
Develop, through a collaborative and inclusive approach, sourcing and negotiation strategies that deliver against company priorities, translating business imperatives into effective procurement plans.
As an individual and team leader, execute market events and direct negotiations to reduce costs while simultaneously increasing quality and resilience.
Build and manage the pipeline of projects and opportunities for the Tech and Ecosystem Sourcing team, including prioritization, socialization of strategies, and validation of outcomes and cost savings delivered.
Provide regular updates to senior leadership on sourcing activities, cost savings, and vendor performance.
Manage contract lifecycle for all supplier contracts within relevant spend categories, including contract negotiation, execution process, capturing in management tools, coordinating renewals and terminations, and documenting key data points in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
Relationship Management
Partner with Tech, Product, Ecosystem, and other departments to understand business requirements and align Sourcing resources with business objectives.
Manage and present information in both written or oral form for respectful dialogue with all levels of the organization and suppliers, including individual requestors through senior executives.
Through effective relationship building, develop the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes with suppliers and business leaders.
Implement mechanisms to ensure that Sourcing is embedded with the business and operating as a trusted advisor to business partners.
Role Requirements
A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Communications, or another related field is preferred.
Professional certification (., CPSM, PMP, or CIPS) is a plus.
Seven or more years in strategic sourcing or category management, showing progressive increase in skills and responsibilities, including at least five years of experience in a technology-focused role and three or more years leading direct reports.
Demonstrated leadership, including team leadership and organizational skills, in a cross-cultural, global environment.
Proven experience in contract negotiations, vendor management, and cost optimization in the technology space.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience leading large-scale, highly complex, and global sourcing activities.
Deep understanding of technology products, services, market trends, and emerging technologies.
Demonstrated ability to model and maintain a comprehensive procurement fact-base and ongoing financial base case for use in category planning and strategy development.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, operate consistently in high-pressure situations, and meet deadlines.
Proficient in common communication, planning, and analysis tools (., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, PowerBI).
