Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer with a strong background in data center infrastructure to design, implement, and maintain our enterprise network systems.

This role requires deep technical expertise in switching, routing, firewalls, load balancing, and modern data center technologies such as Cisco ACI.

The ideal candidate will also be well-versed in ITIL practices and ServiceNow for operational efficiency.

You will play a key role in ensuring network performance, security, and scalability across on-premises and hybrid environments, while mentoring junior staff and maintaining high-quality documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Design and implement high-performance, redundant, and scalable data center network solutions.
+ Support and manage core network components including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Citrix Netscaler, etc.).
+ Collaborate with system, cloud, and security teams to support data center migrations, hybrid cloud connectivity, and disaster recovery solutions.
+ Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex network issues across LAN/WAN/SDN/SD-WAN/Cloud environments.
+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including topology diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
+ Evaluate new networking technologies and make recommendations for improvements.
+ Lead or participate in infrastructure projects, including hardware refreshes, capacity planning, and data center expansions.
+ Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
+ Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network engineers and support staff.
+ Provide escalation support and on-call coverage as needed.

Qualifications:
**Required:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
+ 7+ years of experience in network engineering, with 3+ years focused on data center environments.
+ Expert-level knowledge of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, VLANs, VXLAN, MPLS).
+ Hands-on experience with major data center networking platforms (Cisco Nexus, Juniper).
+ Strong working knowledge of Cisco ACI architecture, fabric setup, and policy configuration.
+ Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
+ Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Python, Terraform) and network monitoring platforms.
+ Proficiency in ITSM processes and tools, particularly ServiceNow, including incident, change, and problem management workflows.
+ Understanding of ITIL framework principles and ability to apply them in day-to-day operations.
+ Experience with hybrid cloud environments (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, etc.).

**Preferred:**

+ Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent.
+ Experience with SDN (e.g., Cisco ACI).
+ Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking services and architecture.
+ Strong knowledge of Azure cloud networking, including VNETs, ExpressRoute, and network security groups.

Performance Metrics / KPIs:

+ Network Uptime: Maintain 99.99% or higher network availability across all core data center systems.
+ Incident Response Time: Respond to and begin resolution of critical network incidents within 15 minutes; resolve 80% of high-priority incidents within SLA timeframes.
+ Change Implementation Success Rate: Achieve a 95%+ success rate on planned changes without causing unplanned service disruption.
+ Documentation Accuracy & Updates: Ensure all network documentation is reviewed and updated quarterly; maintain 100% accuracy for production environments.
+ Project Delivery: Complete assigned infrastructure projects on time and within budget, with minimal rework or delays.
+ Mentorship Impact: Contribute to the development of junior engineers through regular knowledge-sharing sessions and assist in achieving their certification or skill development goals.
+ Security & Compliance: Zero violations on network-related audits; ensure all network configurations align with company security standards and policies.
