Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a well-qualified Principal Linux Systems Administrator to join our dynamic Classified Solutions team of technical professionals.

**_Please note that due to the classified nature of this program, the selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time, at either our Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL campus.

This is not a remote position._**

Roles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

+ Oversee large-scale server environments, including physical and virtualized servers, ensuring scalability and high availability.
+ Utilize tools to maintain consistent configurations across multiple servers, automating deployment and compliance.
+ Conduct regular performance assessments and optimizations of server resources, including CPU, memory, and storage to enhance system efficiency.
+ Implement and maintain solutions such as clustering and load balancing to ensure system reliability and performance during peak usage.
+ Perform regular security audits to assess compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, proactively mitigating potential security risks.
+ Develop and maintain comprehensive backup strategies and disaster recovery plans, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss in case of failures.
+ Set up advanced monitoring solutions using tools for real-time visibility into system health and resource utilization, generating regular reports for stakeholders.
+ Work closely with development and operations teams in a DevOps environment to streamline CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless deployment and integration of applications.
+ Mentor junior administrators and provide training sessions on best practices, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.

**Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Administrator:**

+ Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 8 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience OR a high school diploma or GED equivalent with 12 years of relevant experience
+ Minimum of three years of experience with Systems Administration for Linux Operating Systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, or Rocky Linux.
+ Able to obtain IAT Level II certification such as CASP+ or Security+ within 90 days
+ U.S. citizenship with an active SCI clearance

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Experience with DevOps architecture such as Kubernetes, Nexus, Harbor, Docker, GitLab, etc.
+ Experience with security compliance and related security scanning products.
+ Experience in enterprise backup and restore solutions, storage area network (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS)
+ Experience with scripting using tools such as Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
+ Experience with network administration and related infrastructure
+ Experience with hardware installation and maintenance to include firmware upgrades
+ Candidate must demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Primary Level Salary Range: $107,800.00 - $161,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
