Sr. Project Manager – State Government Business Services

The Sr. Project Manager role within the State Government Business Services division is responsible for planning, resourcing, implementing, and deploying Civix’s market leading applications and solutions required to achieve the company's business objectives.
The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for assigned projects serving Civix’s State Government Business Service clients.
The candidate will be responsible for the overall success of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.
The successful candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders, both internal and external, and have proven success managing vertical software projects.
The candidate will regularly provide comprehensive project health reports/metrics that accurately reflect the overall status of each project, including identification of project risk and associated mitigation strategies.
The candidate will be a trusted advisor to their clients, proactively bringing together Civix resources and external partners to ensure successful project completion.
Working within an Agile development framework, the candidate will work effectively with Civix resources within Client Success, Product Management, and Development to identify business requirements, assist with sprint planning activities, and help ensure on time execution of committed deliverables.
General Responsibilities:
Manage the company’s relationship with the client and all stakeholdersAct as primary contract manager ensuring contract compliance for all deliverables and adherence to all contracted provisionsShow initiative and speak up; successfully present to groups of people without stage frightNot just track tasks at a high level, but possess the ability to get down into the details, understand the problems, and identify solutionsAbility to create project plans to communicate implementation approach, deliverables, and estimatesEnsure projects are delivered within the approved budget, schedule, and scopeSecure acceptance and approval of deliverables from project sponsors and applicable stakeholdersEnsure that the required project documentation is complete and archivedEffectively manage resources to maximize efficiency and meet targetsManage and measure the team's performance of project tasksProduce project-related communication such as status reports, change logs, meeting note, etc.Manage and support system integration testing, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and production implementationResponsible for providing and tracking estimates, forecasting, comparing actuals to forecast, and taking calculated corrective action as neededRequired Skills and Experience:
Strong preference for project management experience involving State, Federal, and/or Local Government clients.Excellent client-facing and internal written and verbal communication skillsSolid organizational skills with attention to detail and multi-tasking skillsStrong planning skills, including preparation of detailed task oriented and milestone driven plansProven work experience as a Project Manager for packaged as well as custom software implementations, preferably with state government agenciesManaged projects of various types (fixed-price/fixed-scope, time and materials) and effectively used and administered a change control process to control deviations from scopeHands on experience actively leading scrum ceremonies within an agile development frameworkManaged projects where client is completely external to the organization and the only corporate relationship with the client is through a contractManaged software implementations across a spectrum of complexity and cost; preferred experience with contracts not less than $750,000Experience managing and adhering to written contracts between the company and the clientStrong familiarity with project management and work management tools, such as Microsoft Project and Azure DevOpsMinimal travel requirements (not exceeding 25%)Accountabilities in this role:

BS degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred.5 Years minimum experience in an IT/Software Project/Program Manager capacity, preferably involving contracts with medium to large total contract value.Proven leadership skills and experience.Exceptional Written & Oral Presentation skillsProject Management Professional (PMP) certification highly preferredCertified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification highly preferred
