Sr. Software Development Engineer

**What does a successful Software Development Engineering Senior Professional I do?

As a Software Development Engineering - Senior Professional I, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications.

You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that align with our business goals and client needs.**

**What you will do:**

**Lead the design, development, and implementation of software applications to support Fiserv's business goals.**

**Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.**

**Perform coding, testing, and debugging of applications to ensure optimal performance.**

**Maintain and improve existing codebases and lead peer review processes.**

**Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to enhance team capabilities.**

**What you will need to have:**

**Proficient in Progress OpenEdge technologies, such as AppBuilder, Data Dictionary, SmartObjects, and ABL (Advanced Business Language).**

**Open Edge REST Services API experience**

**4+ years of experience in software development.**

**4+ years of experience in Java, C, C#, C++, or similar programming languages.**

**4+ years of experience in SQL databases.**

**4+ years of experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP services.**

**4+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.**

**4+ years of an equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience.**

+ You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role.

**What would be great to have:**

**5 years of experience in the financial services industry.**

**5+ years of experience with microservices architecture.**

**5+ years of experience with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.**

**5+ years of experience with performance tuning and optimization.**

**Important information about this role:**

**This role is on-site Monday through Friday.

Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experience helps you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.**

**You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role.
