We're seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Manager to lead the S3 Capacity Management organization.
This role is critical in ensuring Amazon S3's infrastructure scales efficiently to meet global customer demand.
You'll lead teams responsible for developing and maintaining systems that forecast, order, fulfill, and provision capacity for one of the world's largest storage services.
Additionally, you will partner with AWS Infrastructure Services to optimize our supply chain planning and manufacturing processes to support S3's unique use cases.
Utility Computing (UC)
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry.
As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead multiple software development teams focused on capacity management systems and automation
• Drive the technical vision for S3's capacity forecasting, procurement, and provisioning systems
• Collaborate with hardware engineering, supply chain, and data center teams to optimize capacity deployment
• Develop and maintain sophisticated forecasting models to predict S3's global capacity needs
• Own critical capacity management metrics and create data-driven strategies for infrastructure growth
• Design and implement systems for automated capacity provisioning and optimization
• Partner with Finance and Supply Chain teams to optimize infrastructure investments
• Lead continuous improvement in capacity planning accuracy and efficiency
