Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking a **Principal OR Senior Principal Quality Engineer (Level 3 OR 4)** to join our Launch Systems' Quality team in Chandler, AZ.

Due to the sensitive nature of our work this is a fully on-site position; hybrid or remote work is not available.

Relocation is not offered for this role.

The successful candidate will:

+ Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
+ Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
+ Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
+ Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducting quality assurance tests; and performing statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
+ Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
+ Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
+ May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
+ May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
+ Work with Engineering test sets and ensure proper Quality standards are in place to process hardware.
+ Collaborate with Engineering team for engineering development.
+ Develop corrective action plans for software and hardware processing through plant.
+ Investigate failures internally to identify root cause on flight hardware.
+ Work with technicians to develop root cause findings on flight hardware.
+ Have the ability to implement Kaizan strategies to reduce defect count on manufacturing floor.

_This position can be filled as either a Level 3 (Principal) or a Level 4 (Senior Principal.)_

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ **Level 3 Education/Experience =** Bachelor of Science in Engineering (STEM) +5 years of relevant experience OR Masters Degree + 3 years of experience
+ **Level 4 Education/Experience =** Bachelor of Science in Engineering (STEM) +8 years of relevant experience OR Masters Degree + 6 years of experience
+ Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which generally requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite
+ Experience working with TipQa, MES, and CostPoint software
+ Experience investigating failures and identifying root cause on flight hardware.
+ Able to implement Kaizan strategies

**Preferred Qualifications for Both:**

+ Active DoD Secret security clearance
+ Knowledge of Northrop Grumman's manufacturing process.
+ Certified in Lean and Six-Sigma methodologies
+ Manufacturing process knowledge a plus.
+ Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
+ Experience in planning and organizing activities across multiple manufacturing locations.
+ Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
+ Record of increasing responsibility supporting manufacturing, electrical, and mechanical engineering organizations
+ Experience in evaluating circuit card assemblies for workmanship issues.
+ Have experience in quality planning.
+ Mentor lesser experienced engineers on areas of manufacturing.

We work a 9/80 schedule (9 hours per day Mon-Thurs, 8 hours every other Friday with the alternate Friday off)

Primary Level Salary Range: $86,600.00 - $130,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $107,800.00 - $161,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
