Urgent! Staff Power Electronics Engineer Job Opening In Cambridge – Now Hiring Resonant Link Medical

Staff Power Electronics Engineer

Job description

Who We Are:

Resonant Link Medical is pioneering the future of wireless power and data transfer for implantable medical devices to help people get well and stay well.

We’re committed to revolutionizing patient care by delivering high-performance, reliable, and efficient wireless charging solutions that eliminate the burden of frequent surgeries to replace batteries, improve patient outcomes, and enhance the overall healthcare experience.

We’ve designed our first-of-its-kind wireless charging into more than 50 different types of medical devices and support customers around the world from our offices and employee hubs in Burlington, Vermont, Cambridge, Massachusetts, San Francisco, California, and Zurich, Switzerland.

We are seeking a Staff Power Electronics Engineer to join our team.

In this role, you will use your expertise in power electronics and high-frequency converter design to tackle some of the toughest challenges in wireless power transfer.

You’ll focus on the areas that matter most — thermal performance, EMI, stability, and controls — to make sure our systems perform reliably in the field.

Along the way, you’ll design and implement new circuit and control solutions, roll up your sleeves to drive testing and verification, and mentor teammates to raise the level of technical strength across the team.

Your work will directly shape the reliability, manufacturability, and performance of our product platforms and help deliver wireless power solutions that improve patient care.

At Resonant Link Medical, we’re committed to building a collaborative culture that spans disciplines and geographies.

To help us deliver on our mission, we’re looking for detail-oriented problem solvers and empathetic team players who are passionate about working for a quickly growing and evolving business.

If you thrive in a high-impact, hands-on environment and are interested in helping advance a promising medical technology, this is the role for you!

Your typical day will involve…

  • Owning the hardest technical risks in power electronics — from switching losses and EMI to controls and stability — and driving them to closure to ensure breakthrough wireless power systems succeed in the field.
  • Identifying and solving the most valuable, high-leverage challenges in power electronics, where novel ideas in topology, controls, or device selection unlock step-changes in performance, safety, and manufacturability.
  • Rolling up your sleeves to drive design, implementation, and verification — turning ideas into working hardware through hands-on engineering.
  • Designing, simulating, and optimizing high-frequency converters and control strategies to achieve world-class efficiency, miniaturization, and reliability under strict medical safety standards.
  • Prototyping, testing, and validating converters methodically, ensuring designs are robust, manufacturable, and ready for clinical use.
  • Collaborating across disciplines — electromagnetics, mechanical, and firmware — to deliver seamless, integrated power systems.
  • Mentoring and developing teammates by sharing expertise, providing technical coaching, and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or PhD preferred) in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Deep expertise in power electronics theory and design, ideally with proficiency in high-frequency power electronics.
  • Skilled in loop stability analysis, control design, and implementation for reliable, high-performance power converters.
  • Strong understanding of passive and active device losses, with proficiency in device-level modeling (inductors, transformers, semiconductors) and system-level architectures.
  • Hands-on experience prototyping, testing, and validating power converters, using structured and organized approaches.
  • Strong command of engineering and design processes for shipping high-reliability commercial power electronics.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a methodical, disciplined approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing and validating power converters for medical devices or other highly regulated applications.
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic design and wireless power transfer principles.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., IEC 60601, ISO 14708).

Values and Culture Add:

  • High-Drive and Self-Motivated: You take ownership of your work, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and can manage tasks with minimal supervision while meeting objectives.
  • Strong Analytical Skills and Critical Thinking: You use a data-driven approach to problem solving and seek out information to make informed decisions.
  • Detail-Oriented and Organized: Your precision ensures consistent, high-quality work and organizational skills mean you efficiently manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Team-First Mentality: You collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, and support your teammates.
  • Growth Mindset: You welcome feedback and continuously seek to improve.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and stock options.
  • Paid holidays (including a week off at new year) and an unlimited vacation policy.
  • Generous medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • 401(k) retirement plan and company match.
  • Paid parental and family leave.
  • Professional development through opportunities like conferences, courses, mentorship, and other learning programs.
  • Company outings and team retreats.
