Job Summary

The Multimedia Coordinator/Editor plans, produces and edits videos in support of our mission to promote travel to and across the state of Arizona.

This position will also develop and lead the adoption of key interactive/social media/digital marketing strategies, policies, processes and standards pertaining but not limited to, newsletter curation and monetization, multimedia packages to publish in conjunction with feature stories and the expansion of the Arizona Highways podcast portfolio.

This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (Two (2) days per week in the office/hoteling).

Job Duties

Produces videos, from concept all the way through to shooting, editing and publication.

Consults with the editorial and marketing staffs to develop effective multimedia strategies across brand efforts (magazines, books and other ancillary products).

Assists the web editor with graphics for the website, including but not limited to animations, infographics, photo essays and the incorporation of audio.

Participates in editorial meetings, including weekly staff meetings, image reviews, etc.

  • Video production and editing, audio production and editing.
  • Social media strategy and execution.

  • Advanced interpersonal skills for interacting with sources, readers, and viewers.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • The ability to gauge efficacy of social media and newsletter campaigns.
  • Relationship-building skills
  • Google platforms, video and audio editing platforms and social media posting across platforms.

Ability To

  • Creatively translate interviews and visuals into compelling video packages in both long and short forms.
  • Plan ahead.
  • Engage with a variety of people, including colleagues, media professionals, sources and readers/viewers.
  • Strategize social media and newsletter content.
  • Travel to video/audio shoots.

Selective Preference(s)

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Digital Audience Strategy or the equivalent.

Three to Five (3-5) years experience as a multimedia professional.

Portfolio of successful video packages and effective social media posts.

Pre-Employment Requirements

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply.

Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks.

The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended.

Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training.

An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
