THE ROLE: The Strategic Sourcing Manager will serve as the global lead for managing Contract Manufacturers (CMs), overseeing all commercial activities, total cost of ownership, and supplier performance.

This role is responsible for developing and executing a global procurement strategy, with a strong focus on supplier development through innovation and collaboration.

The manager will implement a long-term supplier development program that integrates cost, quality, and service objectives.

Additionally, this role will cultivate and manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure alignment with the company’s goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborate with key stakeholder(s) to understand and set cost targets for managed categories or CMs; Lead RFX process, analysis and price negotiation, cost reduction and business awards for key suppliers / CMs. Lead Supplier Performance Management (SPM) with key suppliers/CMs and manage the scorecard to review cost, technology, quality, service, and flexibility.

Negotiating commercial agreements with suppliers, including unit pricing, NRE, CapEx and other agreements as applicable.

Manage and drive supplier's performance to contractual requirements which meet AMD’s short and long term needs.

Where applicable, implement contracts to minimize AMD’s risk and enable supplier accountability for non-performance.

Identification and mitigation of potential supply continuity risks by implementing appropriate risk management strategies and contingency plans.

Develop commodity strategy which fully reflects requirements of the stakeholders.

Understand industry trends through on-going market research and benchmarking.

Execute all activities associated with Procure-to-Pay such that orders are issued and invoiced in a timely manner.

Demonstrate efficient and effective use of AMD strategic sourcing and Procure-to-Pay processes.

Communicate effectively with key stakeholders at all levels.

Leverage and apply solid understanding of contracting and negotiation, supplier relationship management to provide sustainable cost, quality, availability, and technology solutions with adherence to procurement policies.

Partner with Finance and Legal to resolve disputes with CMs/suppliers.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Excellent knowledge of Purchasing.

Good knowledge of Supply Chain Management New Product Introduction (NPI) experience in semiconductor or EMS (Electronics Mfg.

Services) sector.

Demonstrated effective advanced computer skills.

Demonstrated analytics, process mapping and SWOT analysis skills.

Understanding of global/regional markets and cultures.

NAPM/APICS Certification preferred.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s degree or above with experience in semiconductor, technical or business field preferred.
