Job description

Location: Rochester, NY Category: Student Employment Posted On: Wed Sep 24 2025 Job Description:
Function of Position:


+ Adhere to Tutoring and Academic Assistance Center (TAAC) protocol and expectations as outlined in onboarding

+ Greet students, faculty, and staff as they enter the TAAC

+ Assist students to schedule tutoring appointments

+ Help students with computer related questions (such as email, TracCloud, Brightspace, Word, etc.)

+ Clean and close the Center in the evening

+ Assist with any administrative tasks, including but not limited to copying, running errands, and answering telephones

+ Assist Learning Support Systems (LSS) staff with projects and tasks as assigned

+ Help with tabling and other Center outreach events


This is position is eligible for Federal Work Study.

Eligible applicants MUST have received prior approval from the Financial Aid Office.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:


+ Greet students, faculty, and staff as they enter the TAAC

Required Qualifications:


+ Current MCC student

+ Technology savvy

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

+ Well organized, punctual, and versed in key utilization of time management skills

+ Energetic, outgoing, and able to maintain a positive attitude

+ Customer-service focused

+ Reliable

+ Applicants interested in Federal Work Study must confirm eligibility with a Financial Aid representative


Preferred Qualifications:


+ Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently


Additional Information:
Pay Rate: $15.50/hour
Hours per week: Up to 20 hours/week
