Position Information Position Title Student Assistant for Title IX (Work-Study) Academic Year 2025-2026 UIW Mission University of the Incarnate Word is a Catholic institution that welcomes to its community persons of diverse backgrounds, in the belief that their respectful interaction advances the discovery of truth, mutual understanding, self-realization, and the common good.

Position Summary The Student Assistant for Title IX will help support the Office of Title IX by performing general office duties and assisting in the planning and execution of programming.

The Student Assistant for Title IX reports to the Director of Title IX.



This position is funded by the Federal Work-Study program and is open to UIW students who areapproved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program. Essential Functions
  • Perform general office duties of copying, filing, etc.

  • Provide office support to the Office of Title IX staff.

  • Respond to phone calls and emails on general questions related to the office.

  • Create and/or update materials (documents, posters, flyers, presentations, spreadsheets, etc.).

  • Actively participate in programming/events, to include set up and tear down; events include outside and inside events at various locations on the UIW campuses.

  • Maintain organization of materials in office and storage areas.

  • Assist in creating dynamic written, graphic and video content.

  • Assist in maintaining the Office of Title IX social media accounts, including creating content.

  • Run errands across campus.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Basic computer experience, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to effectively maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to effectively communicate.

  • Ability to complete tasks with limited supervision.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
  • Required Education Current UIW student approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study program.

    Required Work Experience None.

    Preferred Qualifications Experience with creating digital media content (Photoshop, Canva, etc.) Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations None.

    Work Hours
  • This position is approximately 10 hours per week.

    The schedule assigned will be during Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with flexibility based on events, trainings, outreach, etc.

  • Schedule will be flexible based on availability and school schedules.
  • Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs of office/event materials.

  • Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat to retrieve office/events materials.

  • Ability to push/pull event carts holding up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to actively engage in events for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to regularly move about campus to attend meetings, events, and presentations.
