Student employees in the Automotive Technology Lab will assist instructors and lab assistants during class times and help prepare the lab before and after classes.
Duties include:
• Provide information on lab safety to students and visitors
• Ensure that lab safety procedures are followed at all times
• Ensure that the lab is clean, orderly, and properly prepared for each class
• Assist students, faculty, and lab assistants during class time as requested
• Assist in maintaining lab equipment
• Assist in inventorying and maintaining supplies for the lab
• Complete work requests for faculty and lab assistants
• Work with faculty and lab assistants on projects as requested
• Other responsibilities as needed
The successful applicant must be dependable, a self-starter, outgoing, fast learner, and able to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
The ideal candidate will be a student in the Automotive Technology Program.
This position may require daytime and evening hours.
Applicants who are eligible to receive Federal Work-Study awarded by LCC Financial Aid will be given preference for this position.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment.
Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.
Requirements for LCC Student Employment:
The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters in which they are attending classes as follows:
• Enrolled and actively attending the following total LCC credit hours by semester
- Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 credits minimum (taken over 16-week period)
- Summer Semester = 3.0 credits minimum (taken over 8-week period)
• 2.00 GPA minimum (unless it’s student's first semester of enrollment at LCC and/or granted approval to waive requirement from the Student Employment Coordinator)
Note: International students (i.e. F-1 visa holders w/ valid I-20 issued by LCC) must meet the following minimum enrollment requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS):
- Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 credits min.
(taken over 16-week period)
- Summer Semester = 3.0 credits min.
(taken over 8-week period)
Additional Position Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Actively pursuing an associates or undergraduate degree @ LCC in Automotive Technology, Heavy Equipment, or Aviation
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3.0 GPA
• Eligible to receive Federal Work-Study awarded by LCC's Financial Aid
