Position Summary
Coordinate all aspects of the visitation process including: intake/referral; orientation; treatment, safety, & permanency planning; and monitoring of outcomes for all recipients of visitation service.

Compensation
Bachelor's Degree: $19.50 - $21.59 per hour
Master's Degree: $21.30 - $23.38 per hour

Full-Time
Monday-Friday, with evenings/flexible scheduling as required for caseload and department needs

Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Facilitate safe, therapeutic visitation between children and non-custodial parents to support healthy family relationships, smooth transitions, and provide information to custody evaluators and treatment professionals.
+ Support children and parents before, during, and after visits; identify parenting behaviors to strengthen and collaborate with parents on meeting individual child and family needs.
+ Collaborate with referral sources (e.g., ECDSS, Family Court, service providers) to clarify reasons for referral and desired family outcomes.
+ Engage families and treatment teams in developing visitation plans using a strengths-based, best-practice approach; participate in treatment team meetings, case conferences, service plan reviews, collateral contacts, and court proceedings as needed.
+ Meet with parents before and after visits to review goals, discuss child and family needs, address behavior management, attachment, and separation, and plan objectives for future visits.
+ Implement therapeutic intervention strategies (e.g., behavior management, strengthening parent-child interactions, structured environments, Solution-Focused and Trauma-Informed Care) to support families during visits.
+ Assess progress through parent feedback, assessment tools, and staff input; document strengths, needs, and progress in timely, detailed, and behaviorally specific notes and reports for team members and referral sources.
+ Participate in required and optional training; provide mentorship to interns and volunteers as appropriate.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Must have excellent communication skills
+ Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented
+ Ability to work independently and be an enthusiastic team player
+ Knowledge of parenting skills, child development, attachment and bonding, and the child welfare system.
Understanding of the impact of domestic violence, substance abuse, and abuse/maltreatment on children and families
+ Ability to work non-traditional and flexible hours, as needed for the purpose of supporting childen and families served by the department
+ Ability to assist in the transportation needs of children and families referred
+ Ability to provide crisis intervention
+ Ability to work effectively with clients, staff, families, and community contacts
+ Basic computer skills such as a basic understanding of Microsoft Suite and Google Suite and ability to learn other systems
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in relevant area
+ Valid New York State driver’s license, adequate auto insurance, and reliable transportation to travel locally on a regular basis is required
