Support Worker | Residential Job Opening In Absecon – Now Hiring Collaborative Support Programs

Description:

CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for a full-time Support Worker.

Under the direction of the Regional Coordinator, the Support Worker provides supportive services geared toward enabling residents to live independently and work toward realizing their full potential.

The Support Worker observes and assists clients in a residential setting.


HIGHLIGHTS

  • Person centered collaborative approach, designed to provide knowledge, skills, and resources to residents to ensure living in the most independent setting available, and address any emergent issues to ensure their self-care.
  • Maintaining necessary casework records to document the provision of case management services for Medicaid reimbursement.
  • At least 55% of each day is spent in direct face-to-face contact with persons served.

    The remaining time is spent on training, charting, and coordination of care.
  • Support residents with the 8 dimensions of wellness, including but not limited to: housing, emotional health, physical health, social, employment, and educational goals.
  • Rotating weekends on call by phone (added compensation for on call rotation and any outreach needed).

Benefit Eligible (Medical, free DMO dental & free vision) including 6 weeks PTO & 11 Holidays

Hourly Rate: $19.23 - $22.84 based on credentials


Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a mental health/human service discipline OR
  • High School Diploma/ GED plus 3 years of related work/life experience.

    OR
  • Certified Peer Specialist (CRSP) plus 2 years of related work/life experience.
  • The ability to write clear, concise, and accurate billable progress notes.
  • Exceptional time management skills to be able to support the needs of multiple residents.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and people skills.
  • A prominent level of patience and emotional resilience.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure when dealing with challenging situations.
  • Empathetic with good listening skills.
  • Great critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt and act accordingly to situations.
  • Ability to carry out domestic duties.
  • Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
  • Proficient in Excel, MS Office products, as well as general computer literacy.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
  • REQUIRED: a valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
  • Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use challenges to inspire and support others.
