Job Overview: Seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Turning Machinist to set up and operate CNC Swiss turning machines for precision part production.
This role requires expertise in machining, programming, and quality inspection of high-tolerance components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC Swiss Turning machines to produce precision parts per specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Inspect finished products using precision measurement tools to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Perform manual programming and make edits using G and M Codes.
- Collaborate with engineers and team members to improve machining processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree, military training, or machining certification preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of CNC turning experience, including 3–5 years with Swiss Turning machines.
- Proven experience working with tight tolerances (≤ 0.0005 in / 0.0127 mm).
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T principles.
- Strong skills in metrology and use of measuring instruments.
- Hands-on G and M Code hand coding ability.
- Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (Esprit, Mastercam, NX).
- Experience with Star Swiss-style lathes.
- Knowledge of tool grinding and use of advanced metrology equipment (CMMs).
- Previous New Product Introduction (NPI) project experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Standing and operating machinery for extended periods.
