Job Title: System Architect – Application Modernization



Location: Washington, DC

Our client is seeking a System Architect to join a contract supporting

Application Modernization with the U.S. Postal Service.

The System

Architect will drive impactful outcomes by leading solution design

discussions, translating business needs into scalable technical

strategies, and ensuring alignment between stakeholders.

You will

develop architecture diagrams, interface requirements, and

implementation plans to support long-term organizational growth.

By

resolving project issues and guiding technical teams, you will help

deliver high-quality, client-focused solutions on time.



HOW A SYSTEMS ARCHITECT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT



- Lead/facilitate solutioning discussions with the customer and

vendor.



- Identify system interface requirements and develop solution to meet

the requirements, including creation of technical architecture

diagrams.



- Ensure technical teams understand short term and long-term goals of

the program and business efforts by facilitating communication

between technical and non-technical stakeholders.



- Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet

productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.



- Work with business units to understand long-term system vision and

create the technical implementation strategy to ensure scalability

and long-term organization growth.



- Help clarify requirements and propose solutions that meet business

milestones as well as directing the technical implementations.



- Engage current customers to understand critical needs, socialize and

vet solutions, and advise on strategies to achieve desired results.



- Identify and select the best technical solutions and approaches to

meet anticipated or actual requirements.



- Lead solution design and the development of key artifacts including,

but not limited to architectural models, process diagrams, concepts

of operation, etc.



- Will jump in when necessary to help diagnose larger system issues

and work with project managers to confidently complete projects on

time.



- Additional tasks will include helping to determine high-level and

detailed estimates, creating technical workflow and other supporting

documentation to help drive the implementation of large enterprise

systems projects as well as helping to implement best practices

around technical development and deployment.



WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:



- BA/BS degree (computer science/systems, information

systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software or

related degree)



- Effective written and verbal communication skills (both technical

and non-technical)



- 15+ years of technical leadership experience



- Track record of leading and managing successful application

modernization implementations, particularly mainframe to web/mobile

environments



- Deep experience in developing and managing workflows, user

interfaces, decision rules, and data models.



- Thorough understanding of and experience in software development

lifecycle and Agile delivery methodology



- Experience and/or certification in Microsoft Azure



- Experience with UI/UX and mobile development



- Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
