Job description

We are looking for a Systems Engineer, Linux to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.

Your Responsibilities:

Our Electro-Mechanical Division (EMD) is searching for a Linux System Engineer to join the Engineering IT team to design, deploy, maintain, and upgrade specialized hardware and software systems

Salary: $86,100 - $124,300 per year

Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in PA.

Your Challenge:

  • Administer Enterprise Linux servers, ensuring system availability, security, and performance

  • Implement and maintain Ansible playbooks for configuration management

  • Support engineering by deploying and managing HPC nodes & clusters

  • Collaborate with development teams to deploy and support applications

  • Monitor system health using Prometheus & Grafana

What you Bring:

  • Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approvals.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Proven experience as a Linux System Engineer

  • Minimum relevant experience of 6 years

  • Coding/scripting experience highly desired (bash, python, perl)

  • Proficiency in Ansible for configuration management

  • Knowledge of GitLab or other version control systems

  • Familiarity with virtualization and containerization

  • Understanding of HPC environments

  • Experience with environments running Oracle databases
